This apartment is located on Via Cola di Rienzo, equally close to Vatican City and the historic centre: Via Cola di Rienzo is one of the most acclaimed and bustling shopping streets in Rome, leading right up to Piazza del Risorgimento. This square is at only a stone's throw from the impressive Piazza San Pietro, with its Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano: Being one of the most famous buildings in the world, this church of all churches requires no introduction.
To the east of the apartment, right on the other side of the river, lies Piazza del Popolo, one of the most vast and enchanting squares in Rome, and a popular meeting point for Romans and visitors alike. This is no surprise, as Piazza del Popolo constitutes the northern end of the famous historic centre of Rome, and every step will remind you of its ancient history. This area is more alive than ever, with countless shops, boutiques and restaurants, ranging from very reasonable to absolutely exclusive. It is this variety that especially marks this area: Whilst you can easily find an authentic, high quality and reasonably priced place for dinner, this area is home to some of the most famous and exclusive hotels and restaurants in the world.
Located above Piazza del Popolo, to the east, you will find the Villa Borghese gardens, constituting the second largest public park in Rome. This park starts spectacularly at “Il Pincio”, a fantastic terrace offering some of the best views over Rome, at only 5 minutes on foot from Piazza del Popolo. From “Il Pincio”, this magical park extends itself over 80 hectares to the east, and contains a number of historic buildings, as well as the renowned Villa Borghese itself: An art gallery exhibiting one of the most important collections of ancient and renaissance art in Rome.
Walking in a south-east direction from Piazza del Popolo, down Via del Babuino, you can reach Piazza di Spagna with the famous Spanish Steps and the church Trinità dei Monti in less than 10 minutes.
Via del Corso, however, a well-loved shopping street with a reputation amongst romans and visitors alike, will take you south towards Piazza Venezia, which you can reach in less than 30 minutes on foot. Just off Via del Corso, to the west, you will discover the unique and enchanting area containing Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori and the Pantheon, and to the east the Trevi Fountain. From Piazza Venezia you can easily access the Campidoglio on the Capitoline Hill, behind which the Roman Forum leads up to the grand Colosseum.
As for public transport, the Line A metro stop "Flaminio" is at about 10 minutes from the apartment, just behind Piazza del Popolo, on Piazzale Flaminio. Several bus and tram lines also run through Via Cola di Rienzo, Piazzale Flaminio, and Piazza del Popolo, and all parts of Rome, as well as most of the sites and monuments mentioned above, can easily be reached by public transport.

Tourist tax (not included in the price):
