The apartment is very close to the Line A metro stop “Re di Roma”, which will take you to Termini (central railway station), the famous Piazza di Spagna, or Vatican City in only a few minutes away.
Piazza Re di Roma - a popular spot with young Romans, especially during the evening - is only half way between the apartment and the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano (1,5 km north from the apartment), from where a more ancient part of Rome extends northwards. With its striking and dramatic skyline, the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano is the oldest and first ranking among the four major basilicas of Rome, and also the official seat of the Pope.
From here, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Circo Massimo are all a short walk away, and other parts of the historic centre, with some of the most famous monuments, squares and streets of Rome, are also accessible on foot or by public transport: Piazza Venezia, the Campidoglio (Capitoline Hill), Via del Corso, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Campo de’Fiori, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, Villa Medici, and Via Veneto.
